NeuroNova Therapeutics is a privately held pharmaceutical company based in Dallas, Texas, formed in 2025. The company is developing oral hydralazine as an investigational disease-modifying therapy for Alzheimer’s disease under the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway.
Our operating premise is restraint: say only what the published record supports, state limitations before the reader finds them, and let the peer-reviewed literature carry the argument. The mechanism is published. The completed academic trial is registered and its protocol is published. The US program’s requirements are defined through a completed pre-IND interaction with FDA. The work ahead is to run that program.

Hamid Harrison Mirzaei, PhD

Dr. Mirzaei was formerly at the Department of Biochemistry, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, where his laboratory published the mechanistic work underpinning NeuroNova’s program — identifying hydralazine as an activator of NRF2/SKN-1 antioxidant signaling (Nature Communications, 2017) and establishing the catalytic subunit of protein kinase A as its direct binding target, driving sirtuin 1/5 activation and mitochondrial biogenesis (Nature Communications, 2019).
He is an author on both Nature Communications papers and corresponding author of the EHSAN study protocol in Scientific Reports, and served as Study Chair of the EHSAN trial, which was sponsored and conducted by Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences (disclosure). He founded NeuroNova Therapeutics in 2025 to carry this published body of work toward a US registrational program in Alzheimer’s disease.
